The return of Goober-fest!

Well, ok.. www.goober-fest.com was never really offline, and there are still people who’re playing it. However, as far as development, it’s been inactive for nearly 2 years aside from the off day that I went on and made a few updates. But even that was only 4-5 times since actual development stopped.

Goober-fest has always been a hidden love of mine. It was the first game I made completely for myself, with my sense of humor and the style of graphics I wanted. Unlike my other games, I’d never intended, or even wanted, to make money from GF. I just wanted a quirky (if corny) little children’s game that could be enjoyed by all ages. It was no surprised to me when the fanbase it developed was comprised of highschool and college kids who ‘got it’.

We even used to give out DVD players as prizes back when the game was supporting itself financially. Ahh memories. Unfortunately, my business ventures ramped up, and I had to stick GF off to the side until I was able to make some time to add to it. I never would’ve guessed that getting the time would take me so long. Well, that day is today, and I’ve finally made the decision to unshift GF onto my list of priorities.

Pretty much all of my other games have been closed for one reason or another recently, so I’m now going to focus the majority of my freetime toward getting GF going in the direction I’ve always wanted it to go. That and I’m starting to get sick of paying 20 bucks a month to host something I’m not working on. There is something very strange about tearing into code you haven’t even glanced at in a few years.

I felt this warranted an announcement, new secrets have been added, and things are already under way! If you used to play, we’d love for you to rejoin us!
